First time yogi - a true story...

Alright - I´m going to admit it. I never understood the yoga hype initially. I always thought it´s an excuse to wear overpriced, tight-fitting athleisure wear in public. During a life-reflecting moment while in my mid twenties ten years ago (a galaxy far, far way), my mom managed to drag me along to her yoga class. Let me get right to the point: after two poses I realized that I´m the most inflexible person on earth. While everyone else in the room followed instructions, finding peace in plow pose with their toes on the ground, I struggled to touch my ears with my knees. Long story short - I survived and never wanted to do yoga again (thanks and nice try mom).

Fast forward, a decade later, I´m in LOVE with yoga. Really, any type. Yin Yoga, Vinyasa Flows, Bikram Yoga, you name it. What made me change my mind? Well, after diving into a very travel-intense and demanding job (hello Corporate America), a toxic relationship (what´s up with all these narcissists out there?) and horrible neck pain (ergonomics at the work place really is a thing!), I was ready to find my happy place, literally.

Who would have thought that breathing exercises truly calm your nervous system and getting all that tension out of your body relaxes your muscles to the point that you could fall into an instant coma for the next ten hours while finding peace in Savasana (shah-VAH-sah-nah, just to be clear)!

Namaste!
